Bryce Gibb

One of the best times I had with Grandma and Grandpa is when I spent several months with them the fall after I graduated high school.  Usually when you visit the farm there are so many people around it is hard to be able to really sit and talk with them. This time I had a lot of alone time to sit with them, enjoy their company, play cards, visit etc. Grandpa and I went out several times looking for gophers to shoot, we didn’t find much but it was a great time anyway.  At one point I got stuck on the barbed wire fence because of my saggy pants and Grandpa had to get his city slicker grandson unstuck. As he laughed and shook his head, I could tell that he thought it was both hilarious and pathetic. It was cool to be out with him and see that fun side I hadn’t seen before. I was also able to end the visit by driving down to Utah with them – we talked for the whole drive.

The Wolffs

Us wolves have many fond memories of mom and dad or grandma and grandpa gibb,on the farm and in Cardston. I remember going to the farm one winter with some of our grandkids and watching the birth of a calf, (Robb taking pics of corse) the kids actually clapped when it finally stood up. I remember bumming the bucket and riding down to the river bottom in Larry's big dump truck to go tubing, and the many wiener roasts also. We have made it to at least 98% of the first of july celebrations...even when we lived in Toronto for 5 years we were able to come to 2 of those july 1st.  I remember our first Christmas back from Toronto and the snow drifts behind the farm house were as huge as they ever were.  Scott and Kevin put on winter clothes that grandma was able to find and they shoveled and shoveled until they had dug out a huge cave that they wanted to sleep in (but didn't).

Thank you mom and dad for the wonderful memories, the great example and influence for good you are and have been, your steadfastness in the gospel of which you live and show others by example.  All 13 of us wolves know that your door is always open and gracious service will be given to us until we leave..... with a strong desire to come back.  in behalf of all the wolff pack...we love you both very much.

Scott and Erin Wolff

I have fond memories of visiting the farm over the summer as a child -- the deep corner, the swing set, playing on the hay bails, sneaking Scott Feller's beef jerky from the fridge, the party-line telephone system, the view of Chief Mountain from the kitchen sink and large family dinners on a Sunday afternoon to name only a few.

Sometimes I would have breakfast or lunch with grandpa when he came in from working on the farm.  Sometimes grandma would tell Kevin and me a bedtime story -- something about a mother hen who left her chicks home alone while she went off to work for the day and a fox (or wolf, I don't remember which) would come devour the chicks one by one, only to be rescued later by the mother hen's crafty use of a sewing needle and some heavy stones. I still wonder why the mother hen would leave all her chicks at home alone for the day, and how it was that the chicks were still alive after having been devoured by the wolf, or why grandma would tell us a story of a wolf devouring chicks as a bedtime story? But I digress...

One summer grandma Gibb and I planted a small evergreen tree on the East side of the farmhouse.  I looked forward each summer to see the growth of the tree and can still recall quite vividly even now the day we planted it together.  It seems to me that it was moved at least once and was eventually removed entirely.  Even as a child I understood that with demands of life of the farm and having so many grandchildren to attend to, having some one-on-one time with grandma was very special.

I am glad to have had a brief time on the farm each summer to re-enforce my teaching about work and play and family. As an adult I have come to appreciate grandpa's persistence in working in the garden year after year. Grandma and grandpa Gibb are faithful, honest and diligent people who have consistently been examples of Christian principles and righteousness.

I have enjoyed my association with the entire Lawrence and Hazel Gibb family and am honoured to be counted among them.

Jenkins Family

Grandpa and Grandma,  I am so glad my family had the chance to come stay with you this past August.  We had such a good time!  I am so glad my kids were able to get to know my Grandma and Grandpa.  Thank you for taking such good care of us.  I am so blessed to have such great Grandparents.  You are such a great example.  I have so many wonderful memories of the trips to Canada.  From the yummy Sunday dinners and Sunday night popcorn.   To the first of July parades and the trips to the candy stores.  The homemade rolls and karaoke machine.  Hot dog roast down at the river and feeding the cows in the tractor bucket. And many many more....  Thank you!!!!

We love you so much and think of you often..

I heard once that "our lives are the product of the lives that touch ours" and I just want you to know what  an influence you've had on my life.  I remember growing up always looking forward to going to the farm during summer vacation....It was always fun to see the cousins, put on bake sales, plays, riding the quad, haybailing, and spending time with family.  As I've grown up I've reflected on why the farm has become a place of refuge and a place that I find sacred.... I found it really sad when you guys moved into Cardston thinking it wouldn't be the same, but when I walked into your new house I felt the same kind of peace I had felt in Hillspring. I realized that it wasn't the setting, but it was the people who made the experience.  You both have such  a quiet dignity about you, there's steadiness and hardworking loving grandparents.  I will never forget the times I've spent with you both.  I am grateful for how you raised your children because I have an amazing mother. Thankyou for your strong testimonies, steadiness, and diligence in living the gospel. I love you both very much!!!!!
